Penang Trip – Day Three / Last Day.

Dear Friends & Families,

I just went thru some of the comments that you’d left in my certain posts and I’m sorry to reply you all so late. Saw a lot of nice comments about the post of First Love and other stuffs. Thanks! As for the spams, sorry you have to go. If you like to read my post or blog why not leave me more comments and I was thinking to create a page as my Guest Book for you all to sign and leave your comments.

I wanted to write the day three or the last day in Penang last night but I can’t get my mind working as normal. I was so tired I even get mix up which place I visited first during the Day 2 so bare with me. This is a long story but I’ll keep it short as possible because we didn’t did anything special so I think a few paragraph will finish.

Day Three.

The next morning we need to wake up at 9am and go to one place in Penang so called famous food AGAIN.. I woke up around 8:45am and get myself cleaned up and waited the others and we move out from the room close to 10am. Lucky, my dear when for another “blanket search” to see whether we left something behind. Indeed that I left something behind, I left my Casio G-Shock BAPE Red watch on the bed cover by the blanket. Thank you my dear! Muakz! After we checked out my dear’s sister came over to us and ask us whether we know the road to Jalan Tujuh. I’m not sure what famous food is there. I whipped out my iPhone 3G again and search the location and to my surprise that there is a few road name is Jalan Tujuh, to double confirm the place we when to a nearby petrol station and ask, even the sister that car pooled our car did called her friend and ask for location. She said is located somewhere C.Y road thingy. *Memory loss again*

I on my GPS and found the place and we’re heading the right track. Not long we reached the place and it is a Market plus Hawker Center. I just googled it and guess what “Ho Chak!” been there. OMYG!!! all the time the food we took is recommended by “Ho Chak!” or “Ah Xian”. Darn!!! should find some locals to bring us somewhere better. The place we went WAS CALLED “LEBUH CECIL MARKET” located at 7th Road Market Penang. I was wondering how they find the food they want to eat BUT NO ADDRESSES!!!!! Darn!!!七条路 I went there with a bad stomach because two days foods coming in and nothing coming out.. oooooooooohhhhhhhh…

My dad always told me there is a chinese saying “Fight Poison with Poison” or “以毒攻毒”, I ordered a Curry Mee and a Herbal Tea, as for my dear ordered Loh Mee but end up more like Lam Mee. If you want the exact location try google it and you will find it.

After the breakfast we headed back to Gurney AGAIN! because my dear’s sister still haven’t buy the Dragon Biscuits or Tau Sar Pheanh. Then we headed back to the same place and we found out no stock. p/s: this we’ve inform them. Aih..then the another shop also close on Sunday. End up never buy anything. Then we head down south back Seremban, and on the way we stop by Ipoh Again! to have our lunch or dinner that is something in between. We went to a shop that is the same row with the Ipoh beansprouts chicken. Ordered Hokkien mee, Yee mee, fresh squids, vegetables and beansprouts. One my dear’s sister boyboy treated us “Ham Kai” or salted chicken. It tasted good. I used not to eat after tasting a few pieces it really taste good. After the lunch/dinner we did our last shopping at the shop beside us to buy some Ipoh famous stuffs. Eg: Chicken Biscuits there is thick and thin style so is up to your preferences and pomelo.

After the last minute shopping spree we head back to Seremban.  We took the Penang ferry to cross over the sea to Butterworth. It takes less than half an hour the ferry reaches Butterworth. The trip is really tiring but lucky the way back from Penang to KL is my dear drove and I can rest. Before reaching KL I switch with my dear to be the driver and drove all the way back to my house. During this journey my dear mostly drove and I be the one who yell left… right… straight ahead.. hahaha… Really don’t what to write, I just want to add some photos and videos here for you all see see..

Penang Trip – Day Two

Dear Friends & Families,

This is the second time I’m writing this because the previous post I unable to upload to my blog so I hope this time works. I’m uploading from my iPhone. It did work. The problem once you upload using one type connection you can’t switch to another and I hope WordPress team can solve this problem. Let’s keep our finger cross that they fix it fast so I can use my 3G service to blog if not I need to login to WordPress.com to blog rather than using the App.

Okay.. continue the next day..

Day Two.

We should wake up at 8am and travel to Penang Hill or Bukit Bendera. My dear try to wake me up but I’m too tired because I slept around 2am+ so she didn’t wake me up the second time. She let me sleep till 12 noon and she wake up and ask me one simple question. “Want to go to Toy Museum?” and my eyes open and I say “Yes”. She found my “G-Spot” hahaha!!!! Get myself clean up and head down to the car park and drove out. Problem is we don’t know the road to Toy Museum so how? I brought out my iPhone 3G and switch on it’s GPS. It takes 1-2 minutes to pin point my location and I enter “Toy Museum” and takes only less than a minute to show location. Press on the directions and it route me to the location. During the drive it did tell us precisely where the turn is but there is certain dark spot where the road has changed a bit.

Before we went to toy museum we went to get ourselves some Penang Biscuits. “Tau Sar Pneah” or 豆沙饼 in Chinese. We went to MacAlister Road.  In my iPhone’s Google Map there is no one tag the location so it is hard to find. I need to type in the shop address. Safari for the address then Map it into GPS and Voila! My all time favourite is Ghee Hiang tau sar pneah although there is other brand out there. You can have a number of choices to choose from. When we reach the branch at MacAlister Road all the biscuits has been SOLD OUT!!! OMYG!!! thought getting a few boxes because this time we’re driving not traveling by plane with a 9kg+ bag. I bought a Sesame Oil for my mum because she said very nice. We quickly drive to another smaller branch and we got us only few boxes. Thank God!

When we reached to toy museum we a giant figure of “Leonardo” from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle and Predator from it’s movie itself. There is no parking at the area so if anyone want to go there and take a look better go find a parking spot. DON’T PARK AT THE DOUBLE YELLOW LINE !!! because when we were heading to our car we saw a few cops is writing tickets to all the cars behind us. We quickly jump in to our car and start and sped of. Lucky us! Inside the Toy Museum I fell that suddenly I turn to a kid in a BIG CANDY SHOP. How I wish I have one of this museum in my house or just certain toys that I want is more than enough. Not much 80′s Cartoons but mostly is 90′s and above. I took a lot of photos until my Nokia’s E66i battery finish which I’ve fully charged the night before so does my dear. We spend almost one and half hour inside snapping pictures. I need to go there once again with my Sony Camera. I’ll upload the photos soon after I’ve consolidate all for the trip.

penangtoymuseum

After that we head down to Gurney Drive again because it is VERY NEAR, we parked at Gurney Plaza again because last night we parked at the same place but is cheaper last night compare to that morning. We went over there and my dear ordered Shark Fins Soup with Chinese Herbal,Claypot Rice and Fried Oyster. I went to order myself some fried squids, fried prawn meatball and deep fried chicken skins. You should try this out. Not to miss is PORK INTESTINE SATAY! I went to order 10 sticks just for myself. Yummy!!! It like history.. we were the midst of eating suddenly feel raindrop falling down the skies and we quickly eat and rush back to Gurney Plaza and bought a Cake for my dear’s sister birthday celebrations.

Then after that we drive back to apartment because they’re heading to eat seafood which I don’t know where the place. All I know the place was so far out of the city if you’re not a local I don’t think you can find. Even a local I even have doubt on it. The place I just googled and it called “Teluk Kumbar Seafood”,公巴好友海鲜 as for the address try google it yourself. The place quite pack with people and facing the sea so if it is not crowded you can hear the sea rush to shore. That time I was afraid will it be a tsunami? If not tsunami it might flood because it has been raining the past few days at Penanag so we were having our dinner. While waiting for the dishes to arrive you can order some satay to eat. I think the place is fully packed with peoples thanks to Astro Ah Xian introduced the place.

After the dinner we wanted to head to Gurney plaza AGAIN!!! RedBox Karaoke to celebrate my dear’s sister’s birthday. We were stuck in some housing area because the one shoule lead us out forgotten the way, can’t blame him because he left Butterworth very young age. I whipped out my iPhone again and lucky there is coverage so I can pinpoint our location and travel out to Gurney. Too bad everyone is tired and they didn’t sing much. Around 2am we head back to our apartment and snooze…

My Penang Trip! (Part Two)

Dear Friends & Families,

Here is the second part of my life story at Penang. Previously, I stopped at the Gurney Drive where one of the seller so rude in a manner. Well, have no choice, my girl and I ran to a nearby bus stop or taxi stand to take shelter from the heavy rain. I can say that both of us is totally wet from top to bottom. Don’t ask me how is about in and out. ;)

Waited a while and the taxi stand and look at my beloved. So pity of her get wet. Then we took a taxi back to the jetty and is cost us RM 40 if I never forgotten after the heavy rain. I still remembered one of the nice taxi driver shelter me with an umbrella to the taxi. He even said how nice if this was lady. Hahahaha.. Went in the taxi and I saw.. WTF! The taxi driver is Ferrari fans. All the Shell’s Ferrari model car he has. Some even is till in the box haven’t open yet. After a few chat with him and I ask him whether the Ferrari model car is for sale. Too sad is not.. :( That night was raining heavily, inside the taxi we have a hard time looking outside from inside. The rain did rain hard that day, even one road has a little flood till the ankle length. After reaching the jetty, we need to wait for a while before the ferry starts. I took of my shoes and socks to let it dry a bit. First time, I got my favourite New Balance shoes soaked in water. :(

Skip the ferry part, we arrived the other side of the jettywhich is the resort jetty, during that time is still grizzling the staff inside the ferry handed us an umbrella which is huge enough for both of us. (The staff should be ferry conductor) When we reached to the pickup point and there is my private buggy :) and the same staff help us with our new bag and send us back to our chalet. Nice fellow. Thumbs up for you and the ferry conductor. When back to our chalet we get out wet clothes off and changed to our clean clothes and we unpacked our bag of “Tau sa peh”. There is some boxes get wet and my beloved was so cute use the hair dryer to dry it up. It works! :) Some of the boxes looks a bit off but the biscuits still dry because it has plastic wrapper. YES! Next day morning, wokeup around 8.30am get ready and called our private car up to pick us down to have our breakfast at the Santapan Restaurant. Did I get the name rite? That day it didn’t serve buffet breakfast instead we can choose either nasi lemak with rendang chicken or American Style breakfast which is toast, jam and butter, wedges, eggs and etc. Browse my photos then you will know. Order each one, where my beloved took nasi lemak and I took American style. We thought the breakfast buffet but when we’re going out from the restaurant the waitress ask us to pay for the extra set that I’ve ordered. Amuse here! No buffet but you stated buffet in the coupons. Well just couple of bucks. Paid it off.

Next, called the private car to send us back to our chalet and get ready for our one hour aromatherapy massage. My beloved don’t know what she is doing that made us late for couple of minutes till the Therapist called us. We walk over there because is just beside our chalet. We were greeted by 2 lady and show us which type of massage oils that we prefer. I took the relax and my beloved took the rejuvenate. We were asked to a small chalet which is Balinese style change into robe and just with our bottom only. Gosh! first time naked infront of someone that I don’t know. After lye down the therapist lay a blanket over our back of the body and start massage.. Photos at my album that you can view. Shame to tell you guys that I snore while massaging. :)   hahahahahaha… I slept.. The massage was superb but one thing need to say is that the therapist massage my calf that time very pain. Other part of the body.. erm.. like no feeling. :) well don’t think other wise. AFter the massage we went to the reception of the Spa and have our Ginger Tea. Is really does GINGER tea! lotsa ginger.. took a few sips.

Walked back to our chalet and my beloved took a shower and pack stuff ready to head home. After everything called our private car to send us down to the reception to check out and have some photos. The she send us to the jetty. Waited a while we board the ferry and head to the other side. Watching back the island that I spent few days. Going to miss it. After reaching the other side, went over to the ticket counter and confirm my taxi to the airport. Took a while the taxi arrived to pick us up. We have the staff carry our bags into the taxi. Poor him, that he didn’t knew that the other bag is so tad heavy. The taxi cost us around RM 27. When we arrived at the airport I saw the bis that able to bring us to the jetty. WTF!!! Then I pointed at bus and tell my beloved. What the hell is this. Even the airport staff don’t know there is a bus? or they just want us to hire taxi? Conspiracy? Took a trolley put our bags on it and my beloved when to scout around for last minute shopping. She bought some stuff and we head to check-in and security check. Sometime I do think when my bag went over the security scanner what will the security personnel thinks? my bag full with “tau sa peh”. People mostly smuggle alchol and other stuff but mine is “tau sa peh”? It must be kidding! We planned to check-in my bag but at last both our bag check-in at it cost us another RM 20. When I place my bag on the weighting machine which I think it is. I saw there is a display, displaying my bag is 9.5KG+! OMYG!!!! I’ve been carrying so heavy bag this while? :)

After we’ve checked-in, we went to McDonalds. Yes again… take some light food. Chicken porridge. Guess what.. After paying my meal while I’m walking back to my seat. Walking towards me is a Dato/DAtuk. I’m afraid I called the wrong thing so I didn’t say Hi or anything. You know our Malaysia there is so many “pangkat” or post that given out to each individual. During my school days, we were told that if we mention the wrong post we might get pinalized. The Dato that I mentioning is currently fighting for the second MCA post. Datuk DR.Chua Soi Lek. We board the same plane back to KL. Well, feel thats enough from me.. if want to more of the place, I’ve included the links and photos album below. Happy Browsing!

LCCT, Penang Internation Airport, Rapid Penang, KTM,

My Penang Trip! (Part One)

Dear My Friends & Families,

I just came back from holiday and now start writingwhat I had experienced in the past few days. I went holiday with my beloved Wendy to Penang. I’ve planned this trip for quite some time. Firstly, I thought bring her to the East of PenisularMalaysia but due to the weather condition for this month. That side of Penisular Malaysia will be raining so have to make some amendment. We went to Penang for few days by flight.

We took an AirAsia flight from LCCT airport to Penang International Airport on the 8th October 2008. The flight took us less than an hour. We travel from Seremban to Nilai using KTM Commuter Train and an Airport Liner bus to LCCT. The bus to LCCT took us an hour to reach LCCT. When we reach LCCT, we proceed to check in using the kiosk. We check in quite early. Our flight was 1pm plus and we reach LCCT around 11am. One thing I don’t like the check in kiosk is when the tickets print out from the kiosk is like flying paper. They should have put a tray so the tickets won’t just fly off from the kiosk. After we collected our tickets, my girl and I went to McDonalds. It was packed with peoples. We waited around 10minutes+, then we only got us a place. My girl ordered the latest Fish McDeluxe and I have a BigMac. My beloved says that the Fish McDeluxe not that nice. As for me.. is still acceptable.

In the airplane, my beloved said one of the stewardess is pretty and I tell her to see properly she is not that pretty at all. When my girl saw her walk pass us and she nod and agree what I said. One thing that shock us when the cabin captain announce the flight is heading to.. “Ladies and Gentlemen, this flight is heading to Langkawi”. My beloved and I was stunned and we was looking at each other whether we board the wrong plane. We wanted to ask one of stewardess and the cabin annouce again that the flight is heading to Penang. We got a big relief.. :) During the flight I saw some foreigners order some snacks and coffee. He hasn’t finish drinking his coffee the plane is ready to touch down Penang International Airport. Luckily, I didn’t order anything. My beloved wanted to eat nasi lemak and I say no. After, coming out from the Airport and we went to the Information counter and we ask where can we take a bus to Jerejak Jetty. They say there is no bus going to the jetty. I was puzzeled by what they said because I went online and check Rapid Penang bus do travel from Airport to the Jetty. 401E is the number of the bus. They said don’t have we have to take a taxi to the jetty and it cost us RM26.

The taxi driver is a nice guy, he would chat with us and tell us how to get to Queensbay Mall. He told us is just a 30minutes walk from the jetty. He even drive in and show us. From the Airport to the Jerejak jetty is around 35minutes+. After reaching the jetty I went to the ticket counter and inform who I’m and what time the ferry will arrive. After got my name registered and the ticker counter people handle me two tag for my bag. He even helped us to place the tag on our bag. Waited for the ferry for almost 45minutes. Then we board into the ferry. The ferry can carry almost 20+ of people at one go. There is only a few people board the ferry. A family of foreigners and a another local couple. When we arrived at the other side of the jetty there is one of the staff member welcome us and helped us to carry our bag into the buggy or car or modified kancil. The guy fetched us to reception area and I went in to do check in and make reservation for both my beloved and I’s 1hour aromatherapy massage. After got our room key and we hop back the so called buggy to fetch us to our room.

While the driver driving us up to our room that is located on the hill, he introduce the facilities around the area and how to get down from our room. Our room is a chalet and is like Balinese style type. Beside our chalet is a Spa pool, Spa Center and a Karaoke Center “Rimba”. The room and design is nice. The driver helped us to place our luggage into our room and helped us to switch ON the air conditioner. First thing for me is to switch ON the television. It included a few channels from Astro, eg: CinemMAX, HBO, ESPN and Travel&Living. After have our things unpacked, my beloved and I went to the SPA pool and take a dip into it. After a couple of hours we dress up and called the reception to send the buggy up to fetch us to the jetty to take the ferry out from the Jerejak island to the Penang Island to get some food. We walked to Queensbay Mall and we have some food at Mongkok something. After having our dinner we went to Jusco and bought some cup noodles. My beloved bought me “chut chi yat ding” cup noodle. When we want to go back, I saw my beloved she can’t barely walk back so ask her to take a taxi back to the jetty. Is advisable to everyone if you can walk don’t take taxi is not worth it. It cost us RM12.

One thing that is so embarrassing is that happen on the next day. It was around 12 in the afternoon. The staff came knocking our door to do housekeeping. In my whole life so long I didn’t see or met so hardworking or so punctual to do housekeeping. The staff knocked our door a few times and I was want to forget about it fall back and sleep but the staff keep knocking till I can’t stand it and I opened the door and ask them whether they can come back around 1pm. Then, I wake my beloved to go out Penang town to get some food and some souvenirs that she wanted to buy. We called the reception to send the buggy up and send us to the jetty. We are surprise that the same staff that fetched us the whole day yesterday. He asked us whether we’re going to Queensbay Mall. We told him last night we just came back from there. We took a bus from the jetty to Queensbay Mall and we waited a few hours and last we took a taxi to McAllister Road to buy biscuits from “GHEE HIN” and then to Gurney Drive. We bought almost 5 boxes for each of us. Total we have 10 boxes. It is so heavy we went to Gurney Plaza and get myself a sport bag from Mizuno which has 50% off and place all the 10 boxes inside the bag.

Then we walked to the Gurney drive is just beside Gurney Plaza. We went there and my beloved ordered herself a bowl of Penang Rojak and 2 cups of Cincau. The Penang Rojak is very nice but the problem is while we’re having the Penang Rojak the sky started to rain and we have to find shelter at one of the stall that didn’t open on that day. The rain last for almost half an hour plus, after it stop we have a sit and ordered a bowl of Penang Asam Laksa and I went to order Penang Fried Keuy Teow. I even order a sharkfin soup for my beloved because I know she like sharkfin soup a lot. Even though the sharkfin soup don’t have the real sharkfin’s but still very nice. We even order Ais Kacang and one drink that I don’t know the name. While we want to go back the rain starts again and this time is very heavy. We bought us the “oh jien”. One thing I don’t like the place when I try shelter a while and my girl when to buy some biscuits there is a lady come over and ask whether I want drink or not and I say don’t want. Then she speak in Hokkien tell me not stay here if you’re buying anything from them.
