Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 11)

Hi there,

I’m back to continue where I left off from my previous post. After we had our time at The Oat Village we walk to Guernsey’s Freesia Center. It took us about 5minutes to 10minutes walk from the Oatland Viallage. We walk in the wrong direction and end up at the back of the Freesia Center. Hahahaha.. At the back of the center we can see many green house that is for the flowers they’re growing. A couple walks further down we end up inside the Center. Took a few glimpse of it and we head out and saw a few green houses that let visitor to have a look and check out the flowers by themselves.

Once I step into one of the green house I was greeted with a nice smell..the fresh flowers smells..which I have not experience this before. I was so excited that I have come and pay a visit to the center. Inside the green house there are many different kinds of flowers that they’ve grow. I’m sorry I can’t name one all of it because I’m not that into flowers but I do have some nice photograph that I took to share with you all. I hope you all enjoy it.

Head further up we saw a small shop from Mark & Spencer. We went it to have a look and thought having our quick lunch at there. Just grab a drink and a sandwich will do for the day. Hm.. thinking it all back our life over there was just like that..simple and easy going. I Love the style of living because not much traffics and airs is good. Ha…wish to be back there again. Okay..continue back. We didn’t get ourself some food and we thought of going back to the town to feast ourself some nice chips and a can of cola..Em..em.. I get to know that the Guernsey Candle shop is just nearby but we didn’t know where is it. We saw a mother with her kids on the side of the road and we stop her and ask her for directions but too bad she just move to Guernsey not long ago and not sure where is it..sigh.. nevermind but at least she is nice..

While walking aimlessly to find the shop, the houses leading to the shop at the road side has a  beautiful garden with all kinds of flowers planted. I have some photograph that I want to share with you all as well. After around 15minutes walk from the center we found the Candle shop. At the outside is just like a normal shop but when you walk into the shop is a whole lot of different story. More to it next time…hahaha…

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 10)

Hello there!

I’m back again for another post of my trip to Guernsey. I really hope that everyone of you enjoy reading my blog. I’ve moved myself out from reviewing stuff from a moment because I need to spend some time to finish up my journey in Guernsey. Previous post I stopped at The Oatlands Village and I’ll continue where I left off.

In the The Oatlands Village there are a lot of small shops that selling different stuff like what I did mentioned at my previous post.  There is one cute coin box that I like but I didn’t buy it. Haha..aim is to watch and snap photograph. Hehe..The coin box has the shape of a dinosaur with different name on it or you can have your family membersaures.. The shop even sell greeting cards to pebbles and etc. I’ll recommend that you spend a couple of minute to have a look inside the shop. You might buy one or two things.

Another shop which is recommended by the travel guide is the Rebecca’s Shop. The shop made chocolate and fudge. There is a lot of flavor of fudge and shapes so do chocolates. Wanted to come back to this shop and get some fudge back home Malaysia but endup didn’t go there again. Sigh.. We took our first Guernsey Milk ice-cream from this shop. It taste superb. We’re love it so much.

Below are some pictures that I took of different flavour of chocolates and fudge and SHAPES! I LOVE SHEEP!

That’s not all..there is one shop are selling and displaying miniature houses and the accessories. It was so real but the price is quite high to collect those. If you want to collect everything I think  I need to earn alot..haha..

After browsing all the shops that located inside The Oatlands Village we headout to our next destination which is the Guernsey Freesia Center. Continue at my next post..

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 9)

Dear Families and Friends,

Well, I was chatting my sis Yvonne Yap and she reminded me that I have a long long time that I didn’t update my blog or post anything new. Hm.. let me see what I did..Oh… too busy with other stuff..hahaha.. I would like to continue where I left off from my previous post. At my previous post I was talking about splashes of water on the barrier..and continues…

It was another weekend and me and pals went around the island for some sightseeings. During this time I’m getting to love Guernsey very much. Weather to peoples. The photo posted here is where we used to waited our bus during the weekend and this board is the place that I stay for the past 3 months.

Today, I be the tour guide again..having just a book and map on my hand we took a bus to the airport and interchanged to another bus to Oatlands Village. Read some reviews on some brouchere and Internet. I think we should make a visit to that place after all we have come here so far. We informed the bus driver to stop us at the place because he was busy talking to another passenger he almost forgotten about three of us. We almost pass the place and Norman saw the sign and ask for a stop. Thank god.. We stop outside the place and we need to walk cross the road.

This place is quite cool because it has quite a few attraction in just one place. Is good for family outings. We did saw a family playing the mini golf. Great! There a lot of stuff that they sell. From watches to gold chain..ICE CREAM!!!

This is the mini golf course..it was so beautiful that I can’t miss the chance to have it photographed and me at here as well.. :) everyone of us do take this chance to photograph the moment.

Inside the village there is Aquatic centre. Although is not that big but is great for the kids to spend some time to look around.. They even sell fishes to aquarium and the deco…

There is an area that for kids to have fun. There is a huge trampoline..mini race cars..and some ride..my pal was having fun on one of it.. look at those photos..

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 8)

Dear Friends & Families,

Previous posts, I have been traveling around the island capturing the moments that I had and sharing with you all. People always says that “A Picture is Worth A Thousand Words”. that is why during my younger times I always has this film camera with me capturing the candid moments. During my trip here I met a lot of nice people and visiting nice places. If giving me a chance to travel another week over to the island and I would love to.

Last post that I written about visiting the Little Chapel. The place was magnificent and the scenery was absolute fabulous. The next day after work, my colleague and I went for a evening walk to a fort just 15minutes away from the place we are staying. Staying in the island is walk and walk. If not will be traveling by bus. It was small fort that during the war the Germans built to fortify the island. Many surfers do surf at the beach nearby and some just hanging around just to enjoy the day.

Then we walked another 30minutes to a bigger fort. While were walking to the fort we did stop by a nearby restaurant to take a photograph for a remembrance. While I was back home I did search the Internet for place to have nice food and this place came out from the list. The restaurant name was Crabby Jack’s. There are some positive and negative feedback about the restaurant and I will talk about it next time. The place was nice and ample parking space for the diners.

Then we continue our journey to the fort. We saw a wooden shelf at the road side and it is meant to sell local produce fruits and vegetables. The concept is good but is bad idea back home here. Hahahaha..I hope you know what I means.. The fort that we were heading to is called Fort Hommet.

The total journey from our place that we stay to the Fort took us 30minutes+. The walk was tiring but when you can see the nature and great scenery the tiresome will just faded out. Then there is many spiky and thorny plants. I still remember that one time that I was trying to snap a photo of the plant and there was another at my back. I can feel that thorn was poking behind my back.. Ouch!

It was at the top of the cliff where the fort was built I took a chance to snap a photo at a nearby cliff where the sea was just behind me. If I missed a step I will bid farewell to everyone. The sound of the sea water crashing to the rocks were awesome. We spend almost 10 to 12 minutes snapping photos and my colleague was exploring higher. Capturing the moments in the higher ground.

After that we walked to the fort and we was stopped by a lovely dog which has a cold and long fur. The dog owner was nice and instructed the dog to let us to pat and snap a few photograph. The dog is really well trained.

As we walked towards the fort, one of our colleague took a photograph of both us and it was a great photo. Thank you! We managed to go in the fort but not into the fort because the doors was sealed up so we just able to take some photos outside. Is still great. After spending another 10 to 15minutes we prepared to walk back to our place we stayed to call a day off.

While we were walking down from the fort and we saw a Siberian Husky. It was so beautiful and we took a few photograph and have a short chat with the owner. Half way back to our place we noticed that the sea level has increased and the waves is rushing to shores and hitting the barrier splashing the sea water up a few feet..It was like.. see the photo then you will know..

I think I stop writing here and continue  more…the next post… See you…

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 7)

Dear Friends & Families,

I’m back to continue my stories and sharing my experiences during my trip to Guernsey. Well another week is past and it was Saturday and another day a few of us head out to the town again. This time we went for lunch and a little shopping. We then walked to the Aquaria. I’ve forgotten how much we pay for the entrance fee but I think is about GBP10+ per person. Well I will not recommend you to go and see this aquaria because there are not much things to see..

Even back home Aquaria KLCC is much more better or Langkawi..sigh..a rip off for us.  After that we walked to the bus terminal and during our journey to the terminal we drop by a spot. Is some sort of memorial thingy. It has a minature with 24 hours CCTV monitored.. Gosh..so high tech.. Didn’t do much on this Saturday but instead on Sunday we took a bus to the Little Chapel. It was so beautiful and little..you can see me in the photos and compare how little the chapel is. You can always google the history about this little chapel. It has a great history. The wall was fitted porcelain tiles and ceramic. I did donate a few pounds and a sign in the book.. hope the next time I return my name is still in the book.

After an hour at the chapel taking photographs we went to wait for the next bus to bring us to the town and have our lunch. Where we will have our lunch again? no better than Santana.. haha.. after lunch we around the town and explore further the town and found a quiet spot or garden where we can just chill out for a moment. About time to go home we walk back to the terminal and we only knew that there is a carnival during the morning. What a waste but we still able to try some cheese..there are a few types of cheese for us to try from mild..medium and…STRONG!! The mild was nice… the medium..ahem..still acceptable and as for the strong ones…gosh…my friend was nearly to puke.

The next day, after work me and my friend walk from our house to the fort nearby..more about that next post…

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 6)

Dear Friends & Families,

Previous post I had shown you some of the Berries that I had tasted during the 3 months trip to Guernsey. At Guernsey I got a very healthy life compare back home here. Back home is always hectic and pressure. Gosh! How I wish to be back there. At Guernsey the work life balance is really balance compare back here at home. Things is much cheaper and air is much more fresher. Haha.. Now dreaming when I’ll be back at Guernsey to enjoy the life over there. Maybe I might just retired at there. Let’s get back to the real life should we?

Many of friends and families members always sending me messages during my stay at Guernsey mentioning that most of my photos are food only. Haha!! Well I like to eat that is why all or most of the photos are regarding about foods. Haha!! During my stay at Guernsey what I took more during my dinner was Spagethi.. I had tried a lot type of sauce. Now back home when I see spagethi it will remind me the ordeal during the stay. I did got a chance to try the noodle box. I always see it inside the movies so I must try it out. Went to the shop an ordered a box with RED Thai Chicken Noodles. Well it do help to cure some of the sickness for longing for food that taste same back home.

Then at one Friday before we went back home we went to a Chinese Takeaway and I had a set meat share with one of my colleague. The food was not bad and it took us two days to finish off the food. Thank god.. problem was the fried rice that was tasteless and the portion wasn’t enough for two. Haha!!

Saturday we went to the Flea Market at Saumarez Manor. During the journey to the place we managed to take a glimpse on the sheeps that I mentioned earlier before this post. The place even have many different type of shops and the best part during one of the weekdays there is a Ghost trip around the mansion. Wuuuuuuuu…….. The market do sell foods to flowers and glasses.. after a stroll at the market we took a bus to the town and get our lunch. One of our hang out spot. Santana!..

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 5)

Dear Friends & Families,

Previous post I did mentioned that this post will be Berrilicious.. Hahaha… I feel myself was very healthy during my stay at Guernsey because everyday I will drink fruits juice, eat fruits, walk to a bus stop and not to mention is the fresh air. Hm… I love the place when I a thought it back all the things I did over there.

During my stay at Guernsey I did had the opportunity to try a lot of food that I have been drooling for it. Especially all the fruits that you seldom get it fresh from here back home. At Guernsey I did try a lot of berries. Yummy!!! Let me see.. my first berry was.. Raspberry! Gosh that was nice.. then I did tried the Blackberries..then…Blueberries.. Red Grapes.. Green Grapes.. Black Grapes..Peaches.Nectar..

Raspberry!

Blackberries..

That was the fruits that I tasted during my stays at Guernsey. I might left some outs well it has been more than 6 months from today. Well get back to the story. Sunday we went out to the town only get to know that the shops around the town was closed. They don’t do business on Sundays. We were left nothing to do but wandering around. The town was like a dead town in the game of Resident Evil. The ladies was with us and insisted us to bring them to try out the fish and chips so we have another round after yesterday. Haha.. without so many people on the street we able to snap photo us, things and buildings. While we were wandering the streets we met a nice man that told us he is a dog trainer and introduce the dogs that he trained.

Then we walked to pier and saw a lot of seagulls as wells boats from different sizes. I was on the bridge and I fell a little nausea because the bridge was built on top of the sea. After nothing much to do at the town we took bus back to our apartment and prepare for dinner. Me and one of my colleague share our dinner for the 3 months and we bought 2 large cold pizza back to oven it and we only oven one of it. We made a mistake to over it extra 5minutes and when take it out to eat, it turn to be like eating a stone bread.. haha.. One thing that we liks so much our apartment is our balcony is facing the sea and when sun sets we can always have a look of it. We will lying outside the chair with our sweater because the wind was chilling and watch sunsets.. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL!!!

During our training at Guernsey our Business Partner invited us to a Go-Kart race. We were so excited because we Malaysian always has this adrenaline for speed. Thought we can win but end up we all was the last.. I was speechless.. All our business partner were very adhere to the rules on the roads but when came down to the track they were like demon on the wheels.. Salute them.. There was one incident that a few of us crash together at the bottleneck.. The whole race was fun and we all wanted to have a second race back home.. Yahoo!!!

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 4)

Dear Friends & Families,

After looking back at my blog statistics, I saw there is still a few numbers of people coming back to read my blog and I’m very grateful that you came back for some updates. I hope that I keep my blog updated as much as possible. Previous post I mentioned that I lost my appetite during the first week at Guernsey and I’m losing weight fast. Thanks for the chocolate bar that I took and it brought back my appetite for food. Hahaha!!!

It was our first weekend at Guernsey and it was Saturday Morning and

I prepare all the infos that I need provided by our lovely Business partner and some that I Googled before I came over to Guernsey. We the GUYS woke up quite early and took a bus from right infront our apartment to the town.

The journey do takes a while because travel around the coastline of the island. It was a beautiful scenery and the cold breeze was nice even the sun was shinning so brightly. It was my first time that I saw a flock of SHEEP! I wanted to jump of the bus and go grab and hug one of them. The FUR was so thick. Reaching UK/Guernsey first thing that I told the guys is to snap a photo with the phone booth although is sound crazy. Hahaha.. Went we were there I think it was end of season for spring. The flowers was colourful and beautiful decorated all over the town. The town was having a month or more where every Saturday there is some performance in the town area. We did spend some time enjoy the music. A little tip is good for the entertainment. * Remember*

After a while hanging at the performance area which I forgotten the name then we head up to look for some food for lunch. I told the guys first thing we need to try is FISH & CHIPS! It was over the Internet telling us where to find nice FISH & CHIPS.  We headed in to a store serve by a middle age man. I might be ULU/Kampung Boy that I didn’t knew that we can select different types of fish for our FISH & CHIPS. My eyes was locked in to one of the fish when I was going through the menu. COD FISH! Eating a piece of COD FISH here is Malaysia is very expensive and I have great time eating one of it during my boss wedding dinner. Everyone of us ordered JUMBO COD and we thought it might end up very small because Malaysia always very small portion.  When the man brought our food out, we were stunned! The FISH was so BIG! and the CHIPS was thick and a lot! We were so happy especially me having so big piece of COD fish all for my own. Hahaha!! Well remember to bring your own sauce because you will need to pay at least 10p for a packet of tomato/chilli/mayonise. We can just add the salt and vinegar which I think the vinegar we can just drink it down like water compare to those in our country same as the salt. Our salt a bit will make face turn.

After finished our lunch, we went around the town to walk aournd. Some window shopping and eye more moist.. hahaha!!! Saw a store selling numbers of perfumes, bookstore and etc. There one store the cupcake was nice and a kid was nagging for his parent for one. I snapped the scene and I would like to share with you all.  Then we headed to Mark & Spencer for some window shopping end up I bought myself a blazer. Walk walk and walk.. then I saw one of my all time favourite. ICE-CREAM!!! the stall is selling gelato type ice-cream and there are a lots of favourite and other small tidbits.  Got myself a scoop in a cone Pepper Mint! It was reaching in the late evening and it was around 6pm and we went to Checkers Express to buy some food for our dinner.

Travelling to Guernsey! (Part 3)

Dear Friends & Families,

A brand new year and a brand new theme for my blog. Hope there is a few people is still reading what I’m writing. If not I think I might close down the blog.  Hahaha.. it seems I spend most of my time with Cityville and MafiaWars. Well I would like to continue where I left of.

My colleagues and I checked in our nice apartment hotel and each

of us has our own room except for me which I need to share with one of my colleague.

The next day we were excited because is our first day in work “so called” in a foreign soil. We met a nice man who drove all of us in his mini MPV around the town showing around such as where to catch our bus and even brought us to get our monthly pass for the bus.

Thank you! He even showed us where we can hunt for our food during lunch and he brought us  to a nearby sandwich store and I bought myself a bottle of apple juice and a box of spaghetti to bring back to the office pantry and eat it.

Then it was nice that our office come with some complementary drinks and which is one of my favourite during working hours. COFFEE!!!! It was my first time that I saw such a huge can of Nescafe GOLD! which we can’t buy it at Malaysia.

After a long day at the office undergoing training and  is time to head back home and the nice man drove all us back home. In the evening, we guys wanted to explore the places nearby where we live so we walked out our apartment. It was so windy that most of can feel coldness of the air. One of my colleague was wearing sandals and he said that his feet was numb. I have recorded a video when we were outside. I can here the wind blowing fiercely. We did have a wonderful time at the outside enjoy the fresh wind blowing onto our face and we managed to snap some photos for remembrance.

One of my colleague try to touch the water and he said the water is like cold water that just brought out from the fridge. Gosh! After that the skins on face started to peel off due to the dryness and the cold weather. The next day, the nice man brought us to a hypermarket type called Checkers. I was like a kid in a candy store. I saw a lot of my favourite foods. ESPECIALLY CHEESE AND LOTS OF CHEESE!!

When I was there for the first week, I barely eat anything and I was losing weight fast. The bread and pork that I tasted was awkward and I don’t know how to describe to you all but is really different compare back home. Below is the picture of the bread and pork ham..

It was some rice and CHOCOLATE that brought back my appetite and from that onwards I was back to normal and started to tasting all the foods that I have wonder for all this time.

Catch up with you all later.. continue reading my next post…
